- Thanks you for your interest in The LISTS MANAGER. I am not a software
- company like most of the places you probably order software from, I am
- an individual who enjoys creating useful software in his spare time.
-
- LISTS MANAGER has been around for 8 years in various forms. This edition
- is by far the most encompassing lists management program available. Not
- only can you manage name lists but you can print any type of labels for
- general mailing but also various shipping labels and index cards. The
- letters section has been expanded to allow maintaining of form letters
- and memos. Print a mailmerge letter to an entire list or choose one name
- at a time to print the letter to. There are many other features, check
- out each menu and I believe you will be pleased with the features.
-
- For those of you who have been users of earlier versions of the LISTS
- MANAGER, you will notice some changes. The obvious improvements are:
- - 3 lines of 55 characters each for memo information vs the previous
- one 50 character line.
- - A business and home phone number instead of only one phone listing.
- - The ability to subsort a list by state, zip code or call date.
- There have veen several other minor changes which most of you will not
- notice, but have improved either the speed or user friendlyness of the
- LISTS MANAGER program.
-
- This unlimited file capacity version of LISTS MANAGER vs. 6.40 is a
- copyrighted software program. This program cannot be sold to anyone
- without my written consent. I have placed this program in the shareware
- enviroment simply because software publishing is too expensive. A user
- registration fee can be made by sending $20 plus a $5 shipping fee to
- me at the above address. If you are getting an update only and you have
- previously registered send only $15. With your payment I will send you
- the most current version of The LISTS MANAGER. Please indicate 3.5" or
- 5.25" disk, your current version number and date of the LISTS.exe file.
-
-
- I hope you enjoy the LISTS MANAGER,
-
- JERRY

- ABOUT SHAREWARE...
-
- Shareware (also known as user supported software and other names) is a
- concept not understood by everyone. The authors of Shareware retain all
- rights to the software under the copyright laws while still allowing
- free distribution. This gives the user the chance to freely obtain and
- try out software to see if it fits his needs. Shareware should not be
- confused with Public Domain software even though they are often obtained
- from the same sources.
-
- If you continue to use Shareware after trying it out, you are expected
- to register your use with the author and pay a registration fee. What
- you get in return depends on the author, but may include a printed
- manual, free updates, telephone support, etc. Only by paying for the
- Shareware you use do you enable the Shareware author to continue to
- support his software and create new programs. Considering that the
- Shareware registration fees are almost always far less than the purchase
- price of comparable commercial software it's obvious that Shareware is a
- good deal for everyone.
-
- There are real advantages to you in the Shareware system. You get to
- try out software to make sure it is compatible with your hardware and
- that it fits your needs before you "buy" it with your registration.
- The author saves the expense of advertising, packaging and distribution
- and passes the savings on to you. Plus, most Shareware authors are
- much more accessible than commercial software sources so that your
- questions and suggestions are much more likely to be responded to.
-
-
- Thank you for your support,
-
- Jerry

- NOTE: This program uses dBASE III+ compatable files and is compiled using
- Clipper Summer '87. It require 384k of free RAM to operate and your
- CONFIG.SYS file (found in your root directory) must be set to an
- enviroment of 'files=20' and 'buffers=20' or you will get a system
- error of 'too many files open', poor preformance and other assorted
- error statements. See you DOS manual to see how to create or edit
- the CONFIG.SYS file. I have included a sample file named CONFIG.SMP
- which can be renamed to CONFIG.SYS and copied to the root directory
- of your boot disk by this sample command issued while this master
- disk is in drive A: and assuming that drive C: is your boot drive.
-
- COPY A:CONFIG.SMP C:\CONFIG.SYS
-
- If you are using a floppy based system place your boot disk in drive
- B: and issue the following command while the master disk is in A:
-
- COPY A:CONFIG.SMP B:CONFIG.SYS
